When your own reed making is not going well, or you’re in a time crunch – having backups like this can be a life-saver. Made with Pro Charles cane, Pro Charles staples, 26 gauge soft brass wire and triple twist ff nylon. These reeds are made in the Tabuteau tradition with classic American style scrape, a modified “V” shaped tip, ample heart, strong spine and well defined windows. A moderate shape is used – close to a Prestini #1 or RDG -1. The staples are brass, standard 26mm length and tied off at 58mm total length. The reed is finished at about 55mm, depending on the particular reed.
